Accessibility

The Damien Museum, of which the birthplace is an integral part as a protected open monument, holds hospitality and accessibility in the spirit of Damien.

Everyone welcome

Everyone is welcome. The museum focuses on different target groups: individual visitors young and old, young families, groups (Okra, Femma, Samana, Neos, etc.), schools, youth groups and companies.

We strive to remove all kinds of barriers (physical, cognitive, sensory, budgetary) and offer an accessible, tailor-made programme. We also try to pay attention to the multi-sensory (hearing, seeing, feeling, etc). All kinds of discount rates (Teacher's Card, Student Card, ICOM, Open Monuments, Holiday Participation, European Disability Card, Uit pass) should make visits affordable and possible for everyone.

Tourism for Autism and Tactile diplays

Tourism for Autism offers clear language and a visual roadmap. Tactile displays in all museum areas, including a floor plan of the museum in the reception area, make the Damien Museum more multisensory and inclusive.

Accessibility guide

The Accessibility Guide below (in cooperation with Inter and the Flemish Government) provides the most up-to-date accessibility info with a view to optimally preparing your museum visit.
